According to Ms. Lysa Tran article Texas In My Eyes she strongly believes that we Texan should hire more vets, not only Texas itself but the whole nation. Even though everyone is saying they are going to hire vet or vet can continue their study when they come back. But in the back of your mind you always wonder "do they really hired vet!?" I would hire a vet, because I know that the military train them well, reliable and responsible. Just like Ms. Tran said, those veteran risking their lives for us so that we can sit here safely in class without worrying about our safety. By giving them a job so that they can support their family is the least we can do for the veteran.

Should celebrities or radio talk show host should get special treatment for committing DWI just because they are famous at what they do? According to the article I've just read about how DWI Policing May See Change. It
seems like the more connection you have the easier you get the get out of jail
card. Jeff Ward is an afternoon radio talk show host on KLBJ-AM radio got stop
by the police on June 9, 2011 because the police officer saw him speeding on
west Sixth Street. After administering a field sobriety test, the officer charged
Ward on driving while intoxicated. For some unknown reason Ward decided to call
the chief from the jail. After the chief had review the video of the arrest,
the chief called the County Attorney David Escamilla notify him that the case
was too weak and so by Monday the charges were dismissed.
Yes
they encourage us not to drink and drive. Or don’t text and drive, yet here
they are giving the radio talk host the special treatment just because Ward
make one phone call to the Chief and then the charged is dismiss. The police
and the chief get pay from our tax money, yet they favor certain people. Just because the officer back then forget to give
Ward a Breathalyzer test doesn’t mean his charge should be dismiss with one
phone call from the Chief to the County Attorney. According to the article what
the Chief is doing, doesn’t really give the public confidence in his judgments.
The
Chief says he will deploy more portable Breathalyzer units to the field. If drivers
agree to take the breath test and register lower than .08 then they will be
sent on their way, assuming there isn’t another reason why the officer should
hold them. Chief Acevedo said he will roll out the details of the audit, the
equipment acquisition and perhaps some revisions to the DWI arrest procedures. With
that being said, the public seems to have confidence with what the Chief said.
The Chief will be more wary of late night phone calls from the jails, he will
respond to citizen complaints or comments on the arrests and that he will
continue to review high-profile incidents that draw scrutiny.
In
conclusion, I agree with this article. You should be more aware when you are
arresting a high-profile person. You should not treat the high-profile person
any different than a normal citizen. Each and every one of us should be treated
the same when you are being arrested for a DWI. So that we can make the law
enforcement job easier and keep everyone safe.

Recently I've read an article that was from one of our
classmate about the Plastic
Bag Ban. I agree with Jeremiah about how he thinks about the plastic bag.
We should cherish the planet we are living on. If we don't take care of our
health or planet now, it will catch up with us on our grandchildren or our
great grandchildren life time. It’s a win or lose situation, you want to save
the planet then you have to do your part. But making everyone to recycle is a
very hard thing to do. People don't want to sort through all those plastic
bottles or can or even separate them. I think having to pay for a bag at the
grocery story every time you forget your bag is a good way to start making
people to recycle.

Should or Shouldn't Texas Past the Voter ID's Bills? (blog. #5)
Courting to the article of D's turn noses up Ogdens 2 millions voter ID education. ,if the voter ID Bill passes then it will cost Texas 2 million
dollars. If the voter ID bills do pass it will be more advantage to both sides
of the parties. They would have a fair election. Even though 2 million dollars isn’t a small
amount of money for the state to invest in just to past the bill, but I think
it would be worthwhile for the state in the long run. The state had spent some
what endless amount of money to invest in something that isn’t worth it in the
past. Why don’t we invest in this bill, so that everyone can have a fair
election?
There should be some exceptions for senior citizens. We
understand that some senior citizen don’t have an ID or have the time to get
another one. I’m sure you need some form of ID if you are at a nursing home so
that the worker can identified who you say you are. If you need to go to a bank
to withdraw some money, the bank requires some form of ID. Or in order to get
your social security benefits you need a form of ID in order to get those
benefits every month. Same thing with getting your medication, the pharmacist
need to verify who you say you are in order to give you the correct drug that
you need.
So I think there shouldn’t be excuses of you not be able
to get some form of ID. If you want your voice to be heard and you strongly believe
in voting, then there shouldn’t be an excuse for you to not get some form of ID.
We probably heard on the news that some of the voting registration addresses
turn up to be a ghost address, meaning some of the addresses aren’t realistic. Or
one of the party might paid those voters with ghost address to vote for them.
When they know they shouldn’t bribe citizens to vote for them in that sort of
way. It wouldn’t be fair for the other party, regardless who is better than whom.
I strongly support voter Id bill pass, like I say above. If
you really want your voice to be heard or strongly believe in your rights then
you should get some form of ID for your sake and support your candidate because
you want your candidate to have a fair square election. I understand that you
might be moving different places within a year. As long as you have the most
recent some sort of photo ID on you then you should be fine. If you feel
strongly about voting and want your voice to be heard then should you get
yourself some form of ID.

I
strongly don't agree on what Robert Scott say about Listen Carefully to Education Commisioner's Critique. I don’t think the standardized
testing the state of Texas don’t do any goods. I don’t believe in every single
child learning ability is the same, they don’t absorb the information the same
and the ways they study aren’t the same either. By making the standardized test
for the state of Texas Education, to me it’s like saying every student has the
exact same way of learning and that the entire student is the same. Not only
that it adds more stress for the student but it also jeopardizes the school districts
and the teacher’s job.
If the
school districts don’t meet the standard percentage rate of passing of the test,
then there might be some cuts to the school districts. I feel like sometimes we
are judge what it’s on the outside instead of the inside. For instance, if a
certain school didn’t have the standard percentage rate of passing, then they
should lay off some of the teachers. The entire politician wants is that their state
to have a good education program. Regardless how much pressure they put on the
school district, students and the teachers. You can’t expect student with
special needs to work the same pace like the normal student is.

I had just finished reading an article on Tea Party Is the Solution Not the Problem. I believe that shutting down the government isn't a solution. Instead of sitting down and work it out like adult should or met each other half way. Instead the government decided to shut down because they don't see eyes to eyes. Both the Democrats and the Republican saying they both will come to an agreement sooner or later. They sure are both taking their special times to agree on something that shouldn’t be that long to decide. We’re not trying to point any fingers, but “according to President Barack Obama, a fraction of Republicans is holding the nation hostage to its ideological demands”.
Due to the Republicans doesn’t agree with what the Democrats
are doing, they decided just to put a hold on the nation. I strongly believe
not only the Republicans are putting our nation in danger but also risking our
nation economic just over an idiotic dilemma. For instance, our services men
and women don’t get pay because of the government shut down, but they still
work anyway to keep us citizen safe. Imagine if we don’t have those service men
and women would we be safe or would our nations turn into a raid. If the government doesn’t come to a term of
agreement any time soon, this would give the terrorist advantage to attack our
nation.
The Republicans need to stop being selfish and
start doing what is right for the nations instead of their own benefit.
Shutting down the government is not a very smart way to solve the issue;
instead they created more issue for the nations. I understand why they don’t
want to solve the issues it’s because they don’t want to spend their money on
something they don’t believe in. I strongly believe that if we invest in our
money and time wisely on our nations. Not only the nations will be greatly
appreciative but other country will have a different view point seeing us as a
nation

I just
recently read an article on Texas lawmaker seeks to reverse Planned Parenthood Ban .I just don't understand why Texas wants to banned
Planned Parenthood. While the Planned Parenthood help care for women who are
low income. As we must know Texas has a high percent rate or teen pregnancy.
Since we aren't teaching our children about abstinent. They got to find a way
to protect themselves from being pregnant and from STDs. Planned Parenthood
provide all sort of health care for women all over the US not only just Texas.
Other states don’t seem to have any problems with it, why is Texas making a
huge problem and wanted to ban the organization? I'm sure men in Texas in needs
of similar health care like us women too; they just don't want to admit it.
Overall I think we Texan
should support the non-profit Planned Parenthood instead of against it.
